The YM2149F chip built by Yamaha based on the General Instrument AY-3-8910 is the built-in soundchip in the Atari ST series of computers. This soundchip, comprised of only three audio oscillators producing a square wave and one noise generator, inspired me to start composing for soundchips. Although its limitations, which might make it sound a bit more dull than the SID, it is capable of producing some beatiful sounds. On this page you can find some of the tunes I have made for it.

The SNDH (.sndh) files can replayed on Windows using Jam for Windows.

Threshold .sndh .mp3 .ogg .flac
Winner of the YM2149-music competition at Silly Venture 2019. Not really up to my normal standards as this one composed in a single day, so nothing speacial.

Elusive Groove .sndh .prg .mp3 .ogg

Hyper Ocean Ride .sndh .prg .mp3 .ogg
Runner-up in the YM2149-music competition at Silly Venture 2016. My first ever tune which uses the DMA capabilities of the Atari STe because I wanted to have an additional track just for the drums.

Glittering Waves .sndh .mp3 .ogg
Another tune from an Atari ST intro I made for the D-Bug guys, used in their HD patch for the demo Re-birth by Cybernetics.

Bullet Sequence .sndh .prg .mp3
Winner of the YM2149-competition at Silly Venture 2014. A composition that came to be only because of the bass sound in the main part, a product of inspiration in the dark hours of the night.

Blipblop Memories .sndh .prg .mp3
Winner of the YM2149-competition at Silly Venture 2013. The original composition had a filtered bass sound but the amplifier in my Atari STe overboosted it so much that everything else drowned under it, but I think the one in this version works just as well. I also experimented with some of the sounds, accidentally creating a electric guitar powerchord sound, and using timer effects to create a user controllable pulse width for the chord arpeggios.

Decisive Factor .sndh .mp3 .ogg
My entry to the Silly Venture 2012 YM2149-music competition, came as third. I tried creating some funky bass sounds with syncbuzzers, which eventually resulted in a distorted mayhem in the end part. The tune is included in my music demo Meet !Cube.

Outpost (Atari ST remix) .sndh .mp3 .ogg
A remix of an awesome tune on the Commodore 64 by dEViLOCk/Arsenic. I stumbled into it accidentally while browsing through the High Voltage SID Collection and immediately fell in love. Thank you Peter for letting me remix it. The tune is included in my music demo Meet !Cube.

Dizzzruptor part 3 (Atari ST remix) .sndh .mp3 .ogg
Yerzmyey/AY-Riders composed the original version of this tune on the ZX Spectrum for Hooy-Program's demo Dizzzruptor. I felt like it could use another melody line, some timer effects and digidrums. Thank you MichaƂ for letting me remix the tune. The tune is included in my music demo Meet !Cube.

Renaissance .sndh .mp3 .ogg
Editor: maxYMiser
This tune was originally composed for an intro which required clock cycle accurate timings so the tune doesn't use any timer effects. I was inspired by Jochen Hippel's tunes in some games like Rings of Medusa 2, and tried to come up with something similar. The tune is included in my music demo Meet !Cube.

Blink .sndh .prg .mp3 .ogg
Winner of YM2149-music competition at Silly Venture 2010. My first 200Hz replay tune on the Atari ST. The end is a bit rushed as I was running out of time to finalize the tune for the party.
